Authorized PistenBully Dealer

Snow is our
business.

The mountain. The machines. The people who keep them both running. For sixty years, Peterson Equipment has been the dealer the Mountain West counts on — ski areas, ranches, mountain estates, and first-time owners alike. New, used, parts, service, training, and the relationships behind all of it.

New for 2026

The tiller that
changes everything.

The AlpinFlex SmartCut is a fundamental rethink of how snow is cut — cleaner finish, less power draw, faster setup. Peterson Equipment is the regional launch dealer for the most important tiller release in a decade.

Electric Era · 100E & 600E+

The new shift
starts silent.

The PistenBully 100E and 600E+ are the first production electric snow groomers from Kässbohrer — purpose-built for ski areas pursuing zero-emission operations. PEC is your authorized electric dealer.

We ride what we sell

The people behind these
machines actually use them.

We ski. We ride the cats up at dusk. We argue about which finisher pattern looks best on Saturday morning corduroy. Nobody on this team is here by accident — we're here because we love the work and we love the mountains, and somewhere along the way we figured out how to do both for a living. Working with PEC is supposed to be fun. That's not a slogan, that's just how we run.

Meet the crew
New Equipment

Four platforms.
One mountain.

From the 520-horsepower 600 flagship to the back-of-house PowerBully Scout — every machine PistenBully builds, plus the utility you need to support them. Dan can spec any of these to your terrain. Scot and the techs will train your mechanics on it. Justin will stock the parts before you need them. That's how this works.

Why this matters
The bench behind the sale

You can buy a snowcat anywhere.
You can't buy us.

A new PistenBully is a half-million-dollar decision. What you get when you buy one from Peterson isn't just the machine — it's Dan and Butch running the fit check to make sure it's the right machine for your terrain, Scot and Cannon's certified service team behind it, Justin's parts shelf supplying it, Kelly and the PistenBully Express delivering it, and Jennifer making the deal make sense. That's the bench. That's the difference.

How we got started

The PEC story.
From the beginning.

A family business built on a simple belief: ski-area operators deserve a dealer who shows up. This is where Peterson Equipment began — and why, all these years later, we still do it this way.

Used Equipment

Inspected.
Documented. Ready.

Every used machine on our lot has been through a full PEC service inspection — hours verified, fluids serviced, wear items documented. You see exactly what you're buying, with the same warranty backup and parts support as a new unit. And you don't have to run a ski resort to own one: we put first-time owners — mountain homeowners, ranches, recreation properties, private-road HOAs — into the right PistenBully at a price that fits the budget.

Behind the work

It's a way
of life.

The hours, the views, the quiet. The people you only meet on the mountain. The reasons we still do this — and the reasons you will too.

When something breaks at
9pm Friday, we pick up.

That's not a sales line. That's Scot, Cannon, Brandon, Clay, Justin, and Cesar — and the way the whole department is structured around being there when it matters. Most of our calls don't come in at 9pm. The ones that do are why we built the operation this way.

Service Parts
Service & Parts

The work doesn't
stop at the sale.

Three things that separate a working dealer from a brochure dealer: a stocked parts shelf, certified technicians who answer the phone, and the willingness to drive to the mountain at midnight when a tiller stops cutting. We do all three — and we genuinely love that part of the job.

01

Factory-Trained Techs

Scot, Clay, Brandon, and the shop train directly with Kässbohrer through ProAcademy. Annual PistenBully recertification. Full diagnostic equipment for every model in the lineup — including DocStation telemetry and SnowSat integration.

02

Same-Day Parts

$2M+ in OEM parts on the shelf in Hyde Park, plus three regional containers across the Mountain West. Justin's team will-calls, ships, or hands off to Kelly's Express truck — whichever gets it to you faster.

03

Field Support, On Call

When a machine goes down mid-shift, you don't have time to wait on a ticket queue. Our service line goes to a human — Scot, Cannon, or one of the techs — every time, all season. (435) 752-5110.

Spec'ing a new fleet? Looking for a solid used machine? Never owned a snowcat and not sure where to start? Need a part by tomorrow morning? Want to grab a beer and talk through what your property actually needs? Whatever the conversation is — talk to a human at Peterson Equipment. We like this part.
